BuiltUp Roofing Membranes (BUR)
With Built-Up roofing systems, the highly reliable waterproof membrane is field fabricated with layers of bitumen, alternating with plies of reinforcing felts. The redundant layers give it exceptional resistance to water and weather. Johns Manville has been a leader in BUR with 150 years of experience. We manufacture a complete line of fiber glass felts, including ply and base felts, and mineral surfaced cap sheets.
Built-Up Roofing System GlasKap CR Cool Roof (4GIC-CR)
When considering cool roof alternatives using a bituminous built-up roofing system, there is no easier solution than JM's GlasKap CR Cool Roof Cap Sheet. GlasKap CR is an improved version of our proven GlasKap sheet, with added reflectivity and emissivity properties that meet CRRC (Cool Roof Rating Council), Title 24 (for California) and LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) requirements.
APP Modified Bitumen Roofing Membranes
Johns Manville has developed formulations that enhance the asphalt's overall weatherability by modifying premium-grade asphalts. By combining these modified asphalts with non-woven polyester or glass fiber reinforcements, JM produces waterproofing systems that exhibit tremendous strength, elasticity and weatherability.
APP membranes provide superior tensile strength while maintaining critical flexibility even in the coldest environments. Additionally, with APP roofing membranes (coated with a proprietary blend of asphalt and atactic polypropylene), contractors now have an efficient mode of application by heat welding, making hot mopping unnecessary.
APP Modified Bitumen Roofing System
Dibiten
JM is the exclusive source for APP membrane. This heat weld applied modified bitumen membrane is a high performance solution for both commercial and residential applications. Dibiten is currently available in the Pacific region.
APPeX 4.5M FR (2CIN-W/2PIN-W)
The APPeX products provide just the right torch-ability across a wide range of temperature situations and a variety of rooftop conditions. JM APP solutions are known for their ability to remain flexible at low temperatures, resist cracking, blistering, UV damage and oxidation. For more information view the APPeX brochure
SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing Membranes
Johns Manville has developed formulations that enhance the asphalt's overall weatherability by modifying premium-grade asphalts. By combining these modified asphalts with non-woven polyester or glass fiber reinforcements, JM produces waterproofing systems that exhibit tremendous strength, elasticity and weatherability.
SBS is a rubberized modifier that increases the overall performance of the sheet by providing excellent elongation and recovery characteristics. SBS modifiers extend the service range of the product, so that it can be handled in cooler temperatures without cracking or shattering, and in warmer temperatures without softening to the point where it begins to flow.
SBS Modified Bitumen Roofing System DynaWeld/DynaGrip SD/SA Hybrid System (2FID-SA/HW)
Due to the high demand for Invinsa Roof Board in modified bitumen roofing systems, Johns Manville now offers a 2FID-SA/HW specification. The new hybrid specification is a two-ply SBS modified bitumen roofing system over ENRGY 3 insulation and Invinsa. It is installed using a combination of self-adhered and heat-welded application techniques.
TPO Roofing Single Ply Roof System
JM TPO is one of the latest single ply, flat roofing materials on the market. The current membrane formulations are reinforced with a polyester fabric and manufactured using an ultraviolet-resistant thermoplastic polyolefin formulation. TPO from JM comes in several thicknesses. It is designed for use in mechanically fastened and adhered roofing applications in new, re-roof and re-cover roof constructions. It is fire and chemical resistant and contains UV inhibitors for added longevity.
TPO Single Ply Roof System JM TPO
TPO roofing systems combine both polypropylene (plastic) and ethylene-propylene (rubber) using state-of-the-art polymer manufacturing technology. The result is an ideal commercial roofing system that is reliable, cost effective, environmentally friendly and easy to install. Systems can be installed fully adhered or mechanically fastened. A complete line of accessories, sealants and adhesives is also available.
PVC Single Ply Roofing System
Johns Manville PVC roofing materials are highly engineered to withstand the test of time, providing long term performance even under the toughest conditions. JM PVC is flexible, themoplastic membrane manufactured using an ultraviolet-resistant polyvinyl chloride. Our formulation uses DuPontTM Elvaloy KEE (ketone ethylene ester) to ensure plasticizer retention, delivering a pliable and durable sheet with excellent weathering characteristics and resistance to harsh chemicals and industrial pollutants. JM PVC roofing membranes are the ideal long-term solution for roofs that demand high performance at a lower life cycle cost.

EPDM Single Ply Roofing System
Johns Manville EPDM has superior weatherability through a wide range of temperatures and conditions and demonstrates superior ozone resistance. JM EPDM membranes are available in several thicknesses, with or without polyester scrim reinforcement and can be installed in ballasted, mechanically fastened (reinforced membrane available in 2012) or adhered applications.
EPDM Single Ply System JM EPDM
With wide widths and fewer seams, JM EPDM systems improve contractor efficiency during installation. EPDM offers a quick, clean, inexpensive solution able to be installed in a wide range of temperatures. EPDM roofing systems provide excellent UV and weather resistance as well as sheet flexibility and high elongation. Systems can be installed fully adhered, mechanically fastened or ballasted. A complete line of accessories, sealants and adhesives is also available.
